Burrowing Owl - The Burrowing Owl is a pint-sized bird that lives in open treeless areas. Most of the bird's time is spent on the ground. The owl has sandy brown feathers, which provide excellent camouflage from predators, bright yellow eyes, a white chin, and long legs. The owl is generally no more than nine inches tall. The Burrowing Owl is so named due to its habit of burrowing a nest 4-8 feet underground.
